Public Information Office (PIO):

We are seeking an individual to become a CERT trained member and to act on our behalf as a Public Information Officer. Besides the standard duties of a CERT team member, such as responding to emergencies and disasters, you are responsible for handling request for information from the public following guidelines established by the organization. You will assist the Chief and assistances when communicating with the media and during times of crisis.

You may also be charged with publishing news articles on the KCCERT.org website and in newsletters that we send out. You may also be requested to take photos during training classes and disasters to help show the operation and effectiveness of the program.

Must be able to pass the required background check
