Kaufman County CERT is pleased to announce that we have once again obtained permission to utilize Legacy Academy , here in Kaufman for our training facility. We wish to thank Tina Sanders for helping to lay the ground work that allowed us to approach Legacy Academy's Principal, Mike Anderson.
Legacy Academy
We have used this school in the past and were very please with it, as it allowed us to have enough space for our training, but also allowed for some growing if needed.
When Tina Sanders first approached Mr. Anderson about the idea of using the facility again, Mr. Anderson showed a huge interest in both the CERT program itself and having a group of concerned citizens using his school as a meeting and training location.
After this initial presentation, Chief Hodgdon met with Mr. Anderson to bring more details about the program, including what it is and what we do. "Mr. Anderson was very interested in our program and has expressed interest in taking a future CERT class" said Chief Hodgdon, "I am looking forward to working with Legacy Academy, Mr. Anderson and the staff there. It brings to us a wonderful location in the heart of Kaufman County that can be used by its citizens to prepare to help others".
Chief Hodgdon and Mr. Anderson have agreed to create a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will outline the details of the use agreement established between Legacy Academy and Kaufman County CERT, Inc. The use of an MOU will help to insure that we utilize the facility to the fullest that we can, while providing a guidance on what can and can not be done and how we can and can not use the facility. An MOU is standard practice in support the activities of organizations such as Legacy Academy and Kaufman County CERT, Inc.
We wish to extend our thanks to Mr. Anderson and Legacy Academy in their interest and support in helping us to help the community. This is truly a unique example of one community service program helping another. For more information about Legacy Academy and what they do, please visit their official website. |
