Is Kaufman County CERT™ part of any Kaufman County Governmental agency?
Sunday, 07 January 2007
NO, the Kaufman County CERT program is nt a part of any local or county wide governmental agency. It is a private non-profit organiztion. As such, we are better able to serve our community and its citizens, due to the fact that we have a reduced amount of red tape to deal with. Though we are not a govermental agency, we do assist them on a served agency basis, meaning that we attempt to provide members and operations that help to further the action that is being carried out by the govermental agency.
Before you ask, no, we do not plan on becoming a county govermental agency. Our structure design and the ability to help others requires that we maintain ourselves as a volunteer non-profit organization.
